Introduction: The Polymer That Powers Oil Recovery and Water Treatment
Polyacrylamide (PAM) is one of the most versatile water-soluble polymers in modern industry. From enhancing oil recovery in mature fields to clarifying municipal wastewater, from stabilizing drilling fluids to improving paper strength, PAM plays a critical role in processes that billions of people depend on every day.
Dongying Jusen Chemical offers a full range of polyacrylamide products covering anionic, non-ionic, cationic, and zwitterionic types. Our products have been supplied to major oilfields in China and exported to many countries and regions, receiving consistent positive feedback from customers.
This article introduces our polyacrylamide product portfolio, technical specifications, and main applications across oilfield and industrial sectors.
What Is Polyacrylamide?
Polyacrylamide is a synthetic polymer formed from acrylamide monomers. It is a white, free-flowing powder or granular solid that dissolves readily in water to form a viscous solution. Depending on the polymerization method and functional groups, PAM can be tailored to exhibit specific charge characteristics and molecular weights.
Key properties:
- High water solubility
- Adjustable molecular weight (from millions to over 25 million)
- Tunable charge density (anionic, cationic, nonionic, zwitterionic)
- Excellent thickening and flocculation performance
- Stable under a wide range of temperature and salinity conditions
